Privacy & cookie notice

How Megabite handles information submitted through this website and gives visitors control over optional measurement.

Last updated: 4 August 2026

1. Who is responsible for your information

Thomas Barrie, trading as Megabite Technologies, is the data controller for information collected through this website. The EU VAT identification number is ESY2280802K and the business address is Carrer dels Germans Cabot Franciscans 35, Bunyola, Mallorca, 07110, Spain. Privacy enquiries may be sent to .

Megabite works between the United Kingdom and Mallorca and may serve clients elsewhere in Europe. This notice addresses website visitors and prospective clients; separate project agreements govern information processed for clients.

2. Information we collect

When you send an enquiry through Formspree, we may collect your name, work email, company, company website, timescale, investment range and the operational information you choose to provide. Do not submit sensitive personal information, credentials or confidential customer data through the website form.

When you book a call, Zoho Bookings may collect contact details, availability, time-zone information and meeting information to schedule and manage the appointment. Zoho’s privacy notice also applies when you use that service.

The site also stores your cookie preferences, landing-page path, referrer and any UTM campaign parameters supplied in the URL. Essential session storage preserves those attribution values during the visit so they can accompany an enquiry or booking link.

3. Why we use the information

We use enquiry and booking information to respond, assess whether Megabite may be a suitable provider, arrange conversations, prepare a proposal where requested and maintain appropriate business records. The lawful bases are taking steps at your request before a contract and Megabite Technologies’ legitimate interests in operating and developing its business.

Where consent is required for optional analytics or advertising measurement, those scripts load only after the relevant category is accepted. Consent can be withdrawn through “Cookie preferences” in the footer. Withdrawal prevents future optional loading on that browser; it cannot erase information already lawfully received by a third party.

4. Analytics and advertising measurement

Google Analytics 4 is configured but blocked until analytics consent. If accepted, it helps Megabite understand visits and meaningful actions such as booking-link clicks and form outcomes. Form contents are not intentionally sent in analytics events.

Meta Pixel may be used for advertising measurement and campaign optimisation. It remains disabled unless a Pixel ID is configured and advertising consent is accepted. Where enabled, Meta processes information under its own privacy terms.

5. Cookies and similar storage

Essential browser storage records your consent choice and keeps campaign attribution during the session. Optional analytics and advertising technologies are separated. Neither optional category is preselected, and rejecting non-essential storage does not block access to the site.

You can reopen the choices at any time using Cookie preferences. Browser controls can also remove existing storage.

6. Who receives information

Information may be handled by service providers supporting Firebase website hosting, Zoho Mail, Zoho Bookings, Formspree, Google Analytics 4, Meta advertising measurement and project administration. These providers act under their own terms and, where applicable, data-processing agreements. They receive only the information reasonably required for their role.

Megabite does not intend to sell personal information. Information may be disclosed when required by law, to protect legal rights or as part of a properly managed business transaction.

7. International transfers

Some providers may process information outside the European Economic Area. Where data protection law requires it, Megabite Technologies relies on an adequacy decision, approved contractual clauses or another lawful transfer mechanism.

8. Retention

Enquiry and booking information is normally retained for up to 24 months after the last meaningful contact. If work proceeds, relevant information may be retained for the duration of the client relationship and for any longer period required by Spanish tax, accounting or legal obligations.

Google Analytics event-level data is configured for a retention period of 14 months. Advertising and campaign records controlled by Megabite Technologies are reviewed regularly and normally retained for no longer than 24 months. Providers may apply their own retention periods under their published terms.

9. Security

Megabite Technologies applies proportionate access control, supplier review, secure configuration, updates and incident handling to website and enquiry systems. No internet service can promise absolute security. Please use the published contact address if you believe information has been mishandled.

10. Your rights

Depending on where you live and the applicable law, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability or withdrawal of consent. Some rights are subject to legal conditions and exemptions. Contact so the request can be identified and handled.

You also have the right to complain to the Spanish Agency for Data Protection (AEPD) or another competent supervisory authority.

11. Updates

This notice may change when providers, processing or legal requirements change. The date above will be updated when material revisions are made.
